At a glance

Taking in historic cities, the sands of the Sahara and snow-capped High Atlas Mountains, all while staying in a fabulous mix of luxurious accommodation with a diverse mix of privately guided tours throughout, this ten-day trip is an authentic and indulgent way experience of Morocco’s highlights.

Begin with a dive into Morocco’s past in the spiritual and cultural capital of Fes. Explore its ancient medina, an incredible network of tiny streets and alleyways that has seemingly spurned the last few centuries, and contemplate delicate Roman mosaics while wandering in the Volubilis ruins.

In Marrakesh, get a taste of the most innovative Moroccan cuisine and explore its artistic but traditional atmosphere. You’ll meet skilled artisans, see dazzling night markets and visit storied cultural sites such as the blue oasis of Jardin Majorelle and Bahia Palace.

Turning south, cross the Atlas Mountains via a winding pass to reach the oasis town of Skoura, following in the footsteps of countless camel trains out into the dunes of the Sahara Desert for an unforgettable night under the starts in your very own nomad-style camp.

End with two nights at a luxurious kasbah surrounded in lush valley flanked by the peaks of the Atlas Mountains with time at leisure to hike, explore Berber villages or simply relax and take in the views.

Marrakech is geographically situated at the foot of the Atlas Mountains, a mountain range that connects North Africa Algeria and Tunisia. The High Atlas is cut from the Draa River in the south and from the valley of Imlil, Ourika and Zat in north. Thanks to its geographical position Marrakech is a starting point for many day trips. From the hotel where you are staying, you can head towards the valley of Ourika, reach the Berber village of Sitti Fatma where you can have lunch in a berber cafe. On Mondays there is the market (souk) in Tnin, the centre of the valley, an opportunity not to be missed for a taste of rural life. If you want to walk (45-60 min) to the waterfalls, you can have a local guide. Do not forget to wear comfortable shoes suitable for long walks on streets and unpaved paths. The climb to see the falls is quite steep. One option, weather permitting, is to return to Marrakech on the road which circles the valley of Ouirgane. Return back to Marrakech for dinner and overnight.
